Good Day, Sunshine

Spring has finally sprung here in Rico, and we figured it was time to introduce Evan to the wonders of a grassy lawn. He wasn't too sure about the whole grass thing - he held his hands up above the waist at all times. But, oh for cute!

Look! Tulips! Well, tulip greens, anyway.

And for Mother's Day, wonderful Sean built me these humongous (and heavy!) flower boxes on the south side of the house:

Goodbye unattractive interface between dirty house and gravel, hello beautiful greens and flowers!! However, the flower part is still lacking. First I must fill them with dirt, no? Witness the trailer filled with dirt on the left side of the photo - time for Sarah to get shoveling!

Evan and Mama got to go for a hike last weekend up on Lizardhead Pass with Aunties Kaycee and Lindsay. We figured we'd go as far as we could, snow permitting. It didn't really permit, and we did a lot of hiking ON snow. But we made a day of it, and had a great time!

Evan is becoming quite the backpack babe - he sits back there like a little Buddha, dispensing smiles and taking it all in. Also, he sleeps. See?
