Babies and Ceilings and Gardens, Oh My

We had a whirlwind morning a few days ago, trying to get the plastic liner in the new flower beds, so that I could shovel the dirt out of the trailer, so Sean could USE the trailer to pick up the wood for our new living room ceiling! Evan helped:

And here, drum roll please, is that new ceiling. Unfortunately, Kuderling girls, it DID cover up all that "extra" steel in the structure. Ha!

Also, check out the bare spot in the half-bath wall - that will eventually be a vertical line of glass block to let in the light from the only window on that wall. We're very excited about that! Thanks for the idea, Matt...

Can't resist a little garden shot - all my flowers are finally in. But... that plastic is there because we do still drop below freezing every night, so it may have been a bit premature. Oh, well. Also, please do not judge my gardening skills based on the appearance of the pots in front. They need a little TLC, and a little time not smushed under plastic (also, they are haphazardly stashed in front of the bed so I only have to do one plastic sheet!). Really probably better not judge my gardening skills based on the big bed, either, just yet. It needs a little time to, ahem, mature.
