Bananas!

Evan is quite the fan:

I would try to promise that I will quit posting pictures of the kiddo EVERY time he tries a new food (you'll get sick of that chair otherwise), but I can give no guarantees. It is CUTE!

Speaking of Sitting Up

Here is the big boy himself, caught in the act:

Can I just say that a folded-out futon with a bunch of pillows and toys, near the computer, is the only reason I ever actually get any updates posted? The babe loves it!

Plus, a little smile:

First Rice Cereal!

Yesterday, Evan got his first taste of rice cereal - hilarious. And he loves it!

And though he clearly had some fun, I think we may have had WAY more fun than he did - we couldn't stop laughing! And we have a sneaking suspicion that there may or may not be a tooth or two on the way... Fun stuff!

Almost 6 Months Old!

The winter has completely flown by, although I am looking out my window at snow falling as I type, so I guess "by" doesn't really apply to our mountain winter just yet. However, my tulips are peeking out of the dirt, and the dirt is peeking out of the snowpack, so we are getting close to spring! Which I must admit, we are ALL looking forward to. Though we could skip mud season altogether, and it would be okay.

Evan continues to be our absolute joy. He is working on learning to sit up by himself (to non-parents, no biggie, but to us, whoa. Autonomy.) and is quite the smiley guy - though we've had a hard time catching it on film! Every time he sees the camera, he gets the deer-in-the-headlights look, so in most of our pictures he's veerrrry serious. "Whoooa, big silver thing in front of me. What IS it? New toy? Torture device? I don't KNOW! Further investigation required." Observe:

But he's so cute, we'll forgive him, and keep trying to capture those elusive grins. Dad is WAY better at it than Mama is, for sure.

More photo fun:

Sleeping with his lovey:

Another visit from Grandma Jan in January - we are spoiled rotten!

Lots of playing Sequence for Mama and Grandma. Evan thought those cards were SO cool.

Look! Grandma Jan got one!

Dinner at Cody and Annica's:

Some random fun Evan shots:

Sleepy stroller baby:

VERY pensive Evan:

Note limbs in motion - a still shot is as hard to get as a smile!

Hiking out behind the house:

Pretty much how we spend every evening - snuggled into the sling:

Another one! This one Daddy got:

Hanging with Uncle Cody and Cousin Rider:

Checking out his musical octopus:

Helping Daddy open his birthday presents!

Uncle Aaron and Auntie Kaycee came over for dinner ("came over" meaning a drive of 2 hours and an overnight stay!). Kiddo got a little tired - Auntie Kaycee is such a good snuggler! Also, check out the gun show:

As my friend Rebecca says, this is what the parents get up to after the baby goes to bed!

And little cousin Rider Bjorn had his 1st birthday!

And learned to walk in the meantime:

Mimosas! Really, what 1st birthday party is complete without them?

Check out Rider's big new truck - think Evan will be jealous? Hoo, yes.

Sean and I were taken out to dinner by a very old friend of Sean's (thank you, Buddy and Katherine!). Our second whole dinner out since Evan was born!

My favorite face:

And amazing Sean continues to plug away at getting our addition done. The big news around here is that we're moved into our new bedrooms! And bathroom, too. Yay-hoo!

Evan's nursery. A little bare, but we're getting there!

Mama and Daddy's bedroom, just next door. Also a little bare - we've really still got some work to do. Actually, now that the structure is complete - I'VE got some work to do! Note the folding patio table. Eek. I am becoming inspired.

I wish I could get pictures to do it justice - it's so light and airy, and the views are incredible. It sleeps really well, too! Lucky us...
